Na Poki’i O Na Ali’i Singers
HO HO HO! Hang on to your Santa hats and get your jingle bells ready because The Na Poki’i O Na Ali’i Singers have their holiday performances lined up! They opened the holiday season early with a “standing room only” great stage show at Pearlridge Center Downtown on November 20th.
Thirty-five very talented singers treated their parents and other mall visitors to songs that were far from the traditional Christmas tunes. The singers were able to make the audience laugh as well as tugged at their emotions with a few sentimental songs. Imagine hearing songs like “The Santa Claus Rock,” “Santa Claus, Santa Claus, You Are Much Too Fat,” “Choc’late In My Stocking,” “Christmas Island,” “Winter Wonderland (Hawaiian Style),” and “The Holiday Ho Ho Hoedown,” just to name a few! Of course the talent doesn’t end with group singing. There were soloists, hula dancers, an ukulele accompanist, and even a square dance!
Just in case you missed it, or may even want to see it again, our next shindig is at the Ward Warehouse on Friday, December 6th @ 6:00pm. Our last one is scheduled for Monday, December 9th @ 6:30pm at the Honolulu Hale/Honolulu City Lights in Downtown Honolulu.
Thank you to all Singers for working so hard to learn all the songs and dances. The show is SPECTACULAR! A big mahalo also goes out to Administration, parents and teachers for their constant support and assistance.
We will be joyfully spreading more holiday spirit along the Aiea Community Christmas Parade route on Saturday, December 14th. The parade starts at Pearl Ridge Elementary@ 9:00am and runs along Moanalua Road, turns up Kaamilo and goes in front of Aiea High School, ending at the Old Sugar Mill park. Honk or wave if you see us!
We hope you can join us for some holiday fun this season. HAPPY HOLIDAYS from the Singers!
