very proud principal attended the school when I was little taught here my mother taught here very vested in the community I wanted to show you what we're talking about when we stay or academic plan this or that so what we do is we start with a superintendence design dr. Keisha Morris design talks about her 20-30 promise plan when she looked at the promise plan to talk about Equity Innovation School design and empowerment these are the things that you developing in every school across the state what do we do at our school level is going to take the promise plan and then we work it into our daily needs our daily needs are generated by our students we assess the students to see where they are how they're doing and how we can work all these promises into our academic plan and what it does is it outlined every we updated it's a working living document be updated in terms of where students are and what we need to do to make them successful so you can see me dead within our plan here with the superintendent 4 promise and we work then into a tri-level students are assessed with the i-Ready program many of you have seen it used it it is also a diagnostic program that tells us exactly what they're working level is it remediate The Flash teachers also to let them know hey this student need some help the teacher goes in and expresses herself rien struck and puts them back on the program so that I can assess what they're doing where we working into teaching and learning equity and excellence and they goes through these tears here this is our own alvah Scott School design and what we do here is we make it explicitly clear for all of our responsibilities and what we need to accomplish to fulfill the superintendent's promise and our promises to you within our academic plan student center student Focus this means that all the decisions we made and the money that we have goes into decisions that directly impact students First Student Center School this is what the staff does to support the students enter School Invacare values of mindsets is the mindset of everyone who works here we look at how we can demonstrate and support our philosophy of being student center down to the administrators and this is what I work on to support the teachers to support the students and you will see this in every classroom every classroom has this posted so that we know exactly what to do when students need help what are we supposed to build try to help him what administrators needs to do to support the teachers to support students this is all tied into our academic plan what are the documents that we also use to help guide us comprehensive needs assessment this is a primary title one document we are Title One school which means that about 50% of our students receive free or reduced lunch so we're entitled to extra funding from the Federal government now to support what we're doing and our actions within our school procedures superintendent's plan and our academic plan is a comprehensive needs assessment so we go through all i-Ready data wonders are go math teacher made test the processes we have in place and we track it through this document it will tell us if we're tracking the right things according to our needs assessment interventions are working which is very important right you want us that's what you're doing is making a difference so this is what the comprehensive needs assessment does and how it's tied into this academic play so they work together handed have another document that's critical to these Trio is also our wasc accreditation the Wasps acreditacion takes place every 6 years you receive recommendation from a visiting team of about 4 people who stages school for 3 and 1/2 days interviewing assessing reading your documents going over the curriculum organization the structure of your school policies in place and the interview students as well and what they do is they create a document to say all right these are the things that you are doing here are some of the recommendations that we need to see more of self-study and said this is quite a document the whole school participates writing the document which means that we go through as a school and analyze what we're doing we're coming up on our next acreditacion which is November 1st through 4 of this coming school year which means we're going to look at the recommendations with in here and over the past six years we've been collecting data on how we've been doing with them I'm very proud there were one of the few schools that only has three recommendations so that's means three things that we had to work on this year which includes staff development tracking teachers professional development plan are the highlights that we have in here so this is another document that you can see online with the academic plan and the comprehensive needs assessment I'd like to thank you all for helping us through this pandemic thank you for bringing your children to school watching them when they couldn't come to school in this Blended learning model and supporting our teachers by checking the website and helping your children learn it's been very difficult it's been a very trying time for everyone but we have worked together and kept the pain that make off of our campus he kept it from spreading we have students online everyday we have on-campus practicing social distancing washing hands and just being happy even if they can't help each other or be really close to each other they're very happy while they're here on can so it's my hope that we all get together and bring everyone back as soon as possible in a healthy stage Manor thank you good afternoon parents and students today I have five good tips for your reading time since number one use your fingers to points to words a book is just like you this helps your student know that text goes from left to right and also helps with word association HIP number to ask your child questions you can ask for example what is this or what else do you think we'll have this will help your child predict outcomes and all the practice retelling the story from memories tip number three make connections to the story this will help your child reflect and relate to the book and bring the story tip number for turn on closed captioning on your television this will help your child see and hear the word at the same time since number 5 reread your sure it covers your nose and make sure it covers your mouth can you find the people who aren't wearing their mask correctly manga mask helps keep others safe in case we aren't well and don't know it printed or plain a mask shows you care about family and friends everywhere wearing masks washing hands and keeping six feet apart we do these things so we can get back to holding hands giving hugs and trading tasty snacks instead of six feet apart think of it as 6V together We are never really that far apart when we have lots of love in our hearts PN a free book along with the family read together form will be distributed on April 13th Tuesday and April 14th Wednesday just a reminder your child does not need to fit the entire chapter book before returning the form please return the forms by April 19th and your child will receive a prize
