About Technology

Aloha!

 

My name is Ms. Minello and I am the Technology Coordinator as well as the Video Club advisor. This is my 20th year at Alvah Scott Elementary School.  The Covid Pandemic has brought so many challenges to Alvah Scott, but we strive to push forward to make your educational experience a positive one.  Whether it's in person learning or online instruction, I am here to help you get the best computer access possible. 

 

We continue to provide programs such as ConnectED, Imagine Learning, iReady, IXL, GoMath, Tynker and CODE.ORG.  To keep our students safe, we have purchased a student monitoring program called GoGuardian.  This will help us determine if students are staying on sites that are assigned to them, and also to keep them safe.  If a student visits sites outside of our programs or inappropriate sites, it will give the tech department a warning, and parents or guardian will be notified.  Thank you for your appropriate behavior when using Alvah Scott equipment and Alvah Scott google accounts.

 

Technology is certainly moving forward this year, so we must all take care of the devices and software etc. It is my goal to assist staff and students to become both knowledgable and comfortable using technology here at Alvah Scott and in the future.
