Week of 8/14/23-8/17/23
Hello Room 11 Ohana,
Congratulations on completing your first week of first grade! We had a great first week and are learning our routines and responsibilities as first graders. Thank you very much, parents, for bringing in your child's school supplies and filling out all necessary forms so promptly. Your support is greatly appreciated!
Let's move forward to an exciting week 2! I would like to inform you that I will be absent from August 14th-21st. My younger son Jared, will be attending Purdue University in the Fall to get his Masters in Civil Engineering. Thus, I will be taking him to Indiana to help him move into his new house. Your children will be in great hands with my substitute, Mrs. Dew. She will carry on to ensure your children have a great second week!
Fall picture taking for our class will be on Tuesday, August 22nd. Please be on the look out for picture taking forms/envelopes this week.
I am so excited for this year and I know we will have a wonderful year together! Everyone is connected to my Class Dojo so please don't hesitate to text me with any questions or concerns. Let's keep our lines of communication open as always. Thank you so much for your support!

Here's what's happening this week:
-P.E. on Tuesday, August 15th. Please wear shoes. Mr. Hathaway will be our P.E/Music teacher for this year! We are in Group B on an A,B,C rotation. Thus, each week, P.E will be on a different day. On some weeks, we will have P.E twice a week! Your children will be indicating P.E days in their planners, and I will also put it on my weekly page as well as on my monthly calendar in your child's Homework Folders.
-Picture Taking forms sent home this week.

-GoMath Chapter 1 (counting to 120)
-Statehood Day Holiday on Friday, August 18th. (no school)
Weekly Reminders:
-Please send a labeled water bottle with your child daily. It gets very hot in the day.
-Please check your child's Homework Folders and Planners (sign please) nightly. Bring these back to school daily.
-Thank you for placing your YELLOW name sign in your window as you are driving up to pick up your child. This greatly helps with pick up.
