Week of 8/21/23-8/25/23

Hello Room 11 Ohana,

I hope you all had a wonderful Statehood Day holiday and were able to spend quality time with your families! Now...on to week 3, which will be another great week!

We will dive deeper into our curriculum this week. IReady Reading and Math diagnostic tests were give the week prior and now we have a baseline to monitor your child's progress.We have a year full of exciting lessons and adventures ahead!

I will be back in school on Tuesday, August 22nd!

Just a reminder, we have picture taking on Tuesday, August 22nd. Forms were sent home last week. If you haven't turned in your money/forms to my substitute, please bring them on picture taking day. Just fyi--our class will be taking pictures before first recess. Thank you!

Here's what's happening this week:

-P.E. on Monday, August 21st and Thursday, August 24th. Please wear shoes. Mr. Hathaway will be our P.E/Music teacher for this year! We are in Group B on an A,B,C rotation. Thus, each week, P.E will be on a different day. On some weeks, we will have P.E twice a week! Your children will be indicating P.E days in their planners, and I will also put it on my weekly page as well as on my monthly calendar in your child's Homework Folders.

-Fall Picture Taking on Tuesday, August 22nd. Please bring picture money/forms.

-Wonders Reading--continue "Smart Start"

-GoMath Chapter 1 (counting to 120)

-Health (Germs)

-Social Studies (Rules at School and Home)

Weekly Reminders:

-Please send a labeled water bottle with your child daily. It gets very hot in the day.

-Please check your child's Homework Folders and Planners (sign please) nightly. Bring these back to school daily.

-Thank you for placing your YELLOW name sign in your window as you are driving up to pick up your child. This greatly helps with pick up.

-Labor Day Holiday on Monday, September 4, 2023.
