Hello Room 11 Ohana!
Congratulations....you made it through the first semester of your first grade year! You all worked so hard and deserve a great WINTER BREAK! Winter Break begins on Friday, Dec. 22 to Friday, January 5th. School resumes on Monday, January 8, 2024!
I would like to wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR! Please enjoy the break and spend time with your families. Your help and support this semester is truly appreciated.

This week, we will be very busy this week finishing up work for the second quarter as well as practicing several very important school wide drills:
Monday: Shelter in Place Drill
Tuesday: Evacuation Drill, 8:15am. Please be in school on time and wear shoes. We will be walking up to the Annex Field next to the Aiea Fire Station to practice this drill.
Wednesday: Lockdown Drill
These schoolwide drills are very important in case of an actual emergency. Please stay healthy and be in school this week. :)
Last week, we took our second iReady Diagnostic test #2. I will share your child's scores with you in their portfolio they will bring home.

-P.E. this week: Tuesday, Dec. 19th Please wear covered shoes.
-Room 11 CHRISTMAS PARTY on Thursday, Dec. 21st! We will be bringing our lunch up to the classroom to eat together. I will provide extra goodies!
Weekly Reminders:
-Please send a labeled water bottle with your child daily. It gets very hot in the day.
-Please check your child's Homework Folders and Planners (sign please) nightly. Bring these back to school daily.
-Thank you for placing your YELLOW name sign in your window as you are driving up to pick up your child. This greatly helps with pick up.
Looking Ahead:
-PE days for December: 1, 6, 12, 14, 19
-December Book-It is due by January 8, 2024.
-Winter Break from Friday, Dec. 22-Jan. 7. Return to school Jan. 8, 2024.
