Week of 11/20/23-11/22/23
HAPPY THANKSGIVING WEEK Room 11 Ohana! We have a short 3 day week ahead with Thanksgiving Holidays on Thursday and Friday. I would like to wish you and your families a beautiful Thanksgiving and let it be a time to reflect on all that we are thankful for. The theme at Alvah Scott this quarter is "Gratitude" and what better time to show others how grateful we are for each other.
This week, we will NOT be starting a new Wonders unit and there will be NO new Spelling words this week.
*Please practice for your Unit 2 High-Frequency Word Test on Tuesday! (A sheet of words was sent home last week).
Special Friend of the Week will begin the week after Thanksgiving! Each week, we will randomly select (pull names from a hat) 1 child to be our "Special Friend of the Week". This child will be asked to bring in a few pictures (5 or 6) of themselves and their family to share with the class! These pictures will be posted up in our room for the entire week. We will let our Special Friend share their pictures, and we will then write letters to our friend, which we will make into a book for our Special Friend to keep forever. You will receive a letter the week before, informing you that your child will be the Special Friend the following week! We are so excited! (The pictures will be returned) Thank you so much for your support parents! We will be selecting our first Special Friend on Wednesday this week!
CONGRATULATIONS to Stella and Wren! They were our "Star Students" for the month of October! Great job girls!

Weekly Reminders:
-Please send a labeled water bottle with your child daily. It gets very hot in the day.
-Please check your child's Homework Folders and Planners (sign please) nightly. Bring these back to school daily.
-Thank you for placing your YELLOW name sign in your window as you are driving up to pick up your child. This greatly helps with pick up.

-Thanksgiving Holidays on Nov. 23 and 24.
-November Book-It is due by Nov.30th.
