Hello Room 11 Ohana!
We are well on our way into the second quarter and as busy as ever! I hope you all had a wonderful time at Movie Night!
I am so proud of your children for showing much independence in their daily tasks and for showing kindness and compassion to one another. Last quarter's Choose Love theme was "Courage", which means taking risks to do things that may be challenging or a little "scary" for us. Courage is also "doing what is right" and we are making a conscious effort to live this daily!
On to "Gratitude" for the second quarter!
Parent/Teacher Conferences begin on Monday, October 23rd and end on Thursday, November 2nd, with the exception of Wednesdays. Please note that dismissal is at 1:00 on conference days. I am looking forward to meeting with you and discussing your child's progress thus far. Thank you!
Grades 1 and 2 Parent Coffee Hour with Mr. Olk! Please join Mr. Olk in the cafeteria on Monday, October 23rd for a coffee hour! We hope to see you there!
CONGRATULATIONS to Rachel and Aiannah! They were our Star-Students for September! Way to go girls!!!

-New Spelling words this week.

-Hawaiian Studies on Friday with Kumu Kinimaka
-Library on Friday with Mrs. Saito. Please return books by Friday.
-P.E. this week: Thursday, October 26th. Please wear shoes.
Weekly Reminders:
-Please send a labeled water bottle with your child daily. It gets very hot in the day.
-Please check your child's Homework Folders and Planners (sign please) nightly. Bring these back to school daily.
-Thank you for placing your YELLOW name sign in your window as you are driving up to pick up your child. This greatly helps with pick up.
Looking Ahead:
-Parent/Teacher Conferences-October 23rd-November 2nd. (no conferences on Wednesdays)
-PE days for October: 4, 16, 20, 26.
-Sprit week-10/30-11/3. (A flyer was sent home)
-Halloween Parade-10/31. 8:30am.
