Hello Room 11 Ohana!
I hope you all had a wonderful Fall Break with much needed rest, relaxation and family time! I am looking forward to the start of our 2nd quarter! We will continue right where we left off and will charge forward with new and interesting learning experiences! Let's have a wonderful quarter full of much learning!
I am looking forward to meeting all of you at our Parent/Teacher conferences beginning on Monday, October 23rd-November 2nd, excluding Wednesdays. School dismissal will be at 1:00 on conference days and 1:15 on Wednesdays.

-Quarter 2 theme: Gratitude
-Wonders Reading--Unit 2 Week 2 ("Buildings All Around")
-New Spelling words this week.
-GoMath Chapter 5 (Subtraction)
-Social Studies-continue Aloha Week unit
-Choose Aloha: "Gratitude"
-American Heart Association Assembly on Tuesday.
-Unity Day on Wednesday, October 18th. PLEASE WEAR ORANGE.
-MOVIE NIGHT on Friday, October 20th!
-P.E. this week: Monday, October 16th and Friday, October 20th. Please wear shoes.
Weekly Reminders:
-Please send a labeled water bottle with your child daily. It gets very hot in the day.
-Please check your child's Homework Folders and Planners (sign please) nightly. Bring these back to school daily.
-Thank you for placing your YELLOW name sign in your window as you are driving up to pick up your child. This greatly helps with pick up.
Looking Ahead:
-Parent/Teacher Conferences-October 23rd-November 2nd. (no conferences on Wednesdays)
-Grades 1 and 2 Parent Coffee Hour with Principal Olk--Monday, October 23 at 8:15am in the Library.
-Grade 1 Vision Screening on October 23rd.
-Library on Friday, October 27th. PLEASE RETURN BOOKS
-PE days for October: 4, 16, 20, 26.
