Week of 4/8/24-4/12/24

Hello Room 11,
We have a busy week ahead with the Solar Eclipse on Monday, Field Day on Wednesday and our STEM Literature Night on Friday!  We are ready for another full week of learning!

We have been learning all about the Solar Eclipse and what select parts of the world will be able to see if they are lucky enough to witness a total solar eclipse! My son is going to college in Indiana, so he and a few others will drive to Indianapolis to witness a total solar eclipse! I hope he will get good pictures that I can share with the class!

We are having a FIELD DAY on Wednesday. Mr. Hathaway is busy planning a few fun outdoor activities for our first graders! Please wear shoes and wear sunscreen (optional) on Wednesday. We should be outdoors for about 1 hour.

Third Quarter Report Cards and Student Portfolios will be sent home on Tuesday, April 9th.  Please keep the enclosed report card, sign the envelope, and return only the envelope back to school the following day. Please write your child a "happy note" in their portfolio and send the portfolio back to school by April 16th. Thank you!

Friday is our STEM Literature Night!  It will be a fun filled afternoon as your family will incorporate the story "The Gingerbread Man" with a Science and Math activity!  A form was sent home last week. ***Please cut and return by April 10th, indicating if your family will be participating! ***
I hope to see you there!

Our May 14th FIELD TRIP PERMISSION FORM will be sent home this week.  Please fill it out and return by the due date.  There will be NO CHARGE for this fieldtrip. Thank you, Mr. Olk, for funding our grade 1 field trip!
Thank you everyone...we have a parent chaperone for our field trip! Mr. Miyagi, Azariah's Dad, will be helping us on that day! Thank you Mr. Miyagi!
